What Happens During Your First Fascial Maneuvers Session?
Your First Session Is About Listening, Not Fixing
Beginning something new can feel exciting—and sometimes a little uncertain.
Many people arrive wondering:
“What exactly is going to happen?”
The short answer is:
Your first session is about understanding your body before trying to change it.
Whether we work together in person in Vancouver or online from anywhere in the world, every session begins with curiosity, not assumptions.
There is no one-size-fits-all protocol because every body tells a different story.
Before We Begin
We’ll spend a few minutes talking about you.
You might share:
What brought you here.
Areas of tension or discomfort.
Your movement history.
Past injuries or surgeries.
Daily habits.
Your goals.
Anything you feel your body has been trying to tell you.
There are no right or wrong answers.
This conversation simply helps us understand where your body is today.
Body Assessment
Next, I’ll observe how your body organizes itself.
Depending on your needs, I may look at:
• Posture
• Walking
• Breathing
• Range of motion
• Balance
• Movement patterns
Often, the place where you feel pain isn’t the whole story.
The body functions as one connected system, and sometimes a restriction in one area influences another.
Rather than chasing symptoms, we’re listening for patterns.
Your Personalized Session
No two sessions are alike.
Your session may include:
✨ Fascial Maneuvers
✨ Guided movement
✨ Breath awareness
✨ Nervous system regulation
✨ Gentle hands-on work (during in-person sessions)
✨ Embodiment practices
Throughout the session, I’ll continue listening to how your body responds.
We’re working with your body—not against it.
Will It Hurt?
Most people are surprised by how gentle the work can be.
The goal is never to force your body into change.
Instead, we create conditions where your body can explore new possibilities safely.
Some areas may feel tender or unfamiliar, but you are always encouraged to communicate what you’re experiencing.
This is a collaborative process.
What Might I Feel During the Session?
Everyone’s experience is unique.
Some people notice:
a deeper breath
warmth
tingling
emotional release
increased body awareness
greater ease of movement
a feeling of calm
unexpected connections between different parts of the body
There is no “correct” experience.
Your body responds in its own timing.
After Your Session
Your body often continues integrating after the session ends.
Over the next 24–72 hours, you may notice continued changes in movement, awareness, posture, or overall ease.
I usually recommend:
• Drinking plenty of water
• Gentle walking or movement
• Rest when your body asks for it
• Observing your body with curiosity instead of judgment
Sometimes the most meaningful changes happen after you’ve left the session.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Every person is different.
Some people experience meaningful shifts after one session.
Others choose ongoing sessions to support long-term patterns, movement goals, or nervous system regulation.
Rather than following a fixed treatment plan, we’ll decide together based on how your body responds.
Do I Need Experience?
Not at all.
Many of my clients have never experienced Fascial Maneuvers before.
Whether you’re a professional dancer, athlete, office worker, healthcare practitioner, or simply someone wanting to reconnect with your body, you’re welcome.
No flexibility or previous experience is required.
Just curiosity.
My Promise
I won’t promise to fix your body.
What I can promise is this:
I’ll meet you with presence.
I’ll listen before I intervene.
I’ll respect your body’s pace.
I’ll create a space where your nervous system feels safe enough to explore new possibilities.
Because lasting change rarely begins with force.
It begins with trust.
Ready to Begin?
Whether you’re joining me in Vancouver or online from anywhere in the world, your first session is an invitation to begin a different relationship with your body.
One based on curiosity.
Safety.
And listening.
I’d be honored to support your journey.
Much love,
