Why Work With Ikue?

If you’re looking for a one-on-one Fascial Embodiment™ session in Vancouver, you may be wondering what makes my approach different. My work combines over 25 years of professional dance experience with fascial awareness, movement education, nervous system attunement, and embodied listening. Rather than applying the same technique to every body, I respond to what each person is uniquely communicating in the moment.

My work is not driven by technique alone.

It is guided by discernment.

Technique matters, but no single technique works for every body. Every person arrives with a unique history, nervous system, movement pattern, and way of holding tension.

Rather than forcing a protocol onto the body, I listen.

I observe.

I respond.

With some people, softening is the medicine.

With others, the body has become so accustomed to holding that a clearer signal is needed. Not force. Not aggression. Simply a more distinct invitation.

My role is not to make the body follow the work.

I let the work pull itself.

Beyond Fixing

Many people come to me after trying countless approaches to address pain, stiffness, stress, tension, or disconnection from their bodies.

I do not see the body as something that needs to be fixed.

I see the body as something that wants to be heard.

When the body feels safe enough to communicate, it often reveals exactly what it has been trying to say all along.

Sometimes the body doesn’t need more effort.

Sometimes it is waiting for permission to stop fighting itself.

We’re not at war.

We can make peace with ourselves and our bodies.

What Makes My Work Different?

I bring together more than 25 years of experience as a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer, movement educator, and fascial embodiment practitioner.

My work is influenced by dance, fascia, movement, nervous system awareness, embodiment, and thousands of hours spent listening to how bodies communicate.

I only teach what I embody.

I don’t believe transformation comes from force.

I believe it comes from awareness, presence, consistency, and the body’s natural ability to reorganize when given the right conditions.

My Philosophy

I don’t fix.

I free.

I don’t force.

I listen.

I don’t make the body follow the work.

I let the work pull itself.

Because healing doesn’t begin when we fight harder.

It begins when the body realizes the war is over.

Much love,

Ikue | Fascia Oracle™💃💞
